WE ARE FUNDRAISING FOR THE PARACHUTE MEMORIAL TO CZECHOSLOVAK SOLDIERS IN ARISAIG

This year we are supporting a project to refurbish and renovate the current 71 names of those who trained with the SEO in Arisaig, served and died whilst serving.

In addition, we are extending the memorial by unveiling four new stones that list the other 188 others who trained with the SEO in Arisaig, served and survived the war.

These new stones are being designed and created in the Czech Republic and will be brought over, along with roses from Lidice for the unveiling in November.

This memorial and war grave is equally important and special to the Czech, Slovak and Scottish people and reminds them of their shared history. Also connection with operation Anthropoid is significant.

All 188 names have been researched by historian Eduard Stehlik (Director of Lidice memorial), and the work and organisation by Mr Martin Matějíček (who organised the original monument) Veronika Macleod, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Scotland has helped co-ordinate and been hugely supportive of this current project.
